Glenn J. McCullough Joint-Appointed to Emmanuel and Knox Colleges

Emmanuel College and Knox College are pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Dr. Glenn J. McCullough as assistant professor. In this unique and first-ever joint-appointment through the Toronto School of Theology (TST), McCullough will divide his time equally between the two colleges in this tenure-track role. He is appointed through Emmanuel College and seconded to Knox College.
McCullough has been teaching at Emmanuel College in the Master of Pastoral Studies program for the past two years, teaching courses on spiritual care and practical theology, and has taught as a sessional instructor at Knox College from 2017-2021. He has also taught at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology. His teaching focus has been on using experiential pedagogies for interfaith engagement.
He completed his PhD in theology at the University of St. Michael’s College in 2019, and his research has been recognized with prestigious grants, including a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship and SSHRC Storytellers Award.
As both a registered psychotherapist and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in Canada, McCullough has worked in congregational, healthcare, correctional and therapeutic settings, and brings a practitioner’s experience to his teaching.
His forthcoming book, Dreams, Ecstasy, and Wisdom: Jacob Boehme and the Spiritual Roots of Psychodynamic Therapy, is based on his PhD dissertation and will be published in the esteemed Brill Studies in Theology and Religion series.
